A CHILDREN’S BOOK / COMING SOON!

Leo and the
Little World Within.

A gentle journey into LFS.

A little wonder for some very big questions.

I’m creating a picture book that invites children into an imaginative world within the body, following Leo and a tiny moth as they explore unfamiliar ideas together.

At its heart, this book is about making a complex diagnosis understandable to a child. I’m developing age-appropriate explanations grounded in medical science, woven into an imaginative story that breaks unfamiliar concepts into clear, connected pieces. The aim is to make the science easier to understand while staying true to it—and give children and families a hopeful, creative way to begin the conversation.

THE HEART OF THE BOOK

Big words.
A world they can step into.

For the child with questions.

Leo’s story is being written to help children explore LFS through an adventure they can connect with. The aim is to make unfamiliar words feel more approachable, while reminding children that their questions and feelings belong in the conversation.

For the family beside them.

A shared reading experience for children, siblings, and caregivers—a way to begin conversations, discover what each child is wondering, and find words together.

For understanding with hope.

The imagined world brings wonder to the learning. It gives families another way to approach a difficult topic with warmth, connection, and a sense of possibility.

The book is in development, with clinical and editorial review planned before publication. More glimpses of Leo’s world will be shared here as it takes shape.
